How to play

• Click a crew member (or press 1 / 2, Tab) to select them. The ring marks who you are directing.
• Click the ground to walk there, double-click to run. Or hold W A S D; Shift runs, R keeps running. Click a thing (the truck, a point, the instrument, Dr. Chau) to see what the selected member can do with it.
• The truck: get in and drive with W S, steer A D, E gets out. The gear rides along.
• Total station: set up over C1, level it, hold the prism on C2 and set the backsight, then stake 1A to 1D from the keyboard's Stake out tab. The job sheet is in your pocket (J).
• The operator carries the instrument, sets it up, levels it and reads the rod. The rodman carries the rod and holds it on the points.
• Sighting: find the rod in the peep sight, switch to the telescope (T), turn with A / D or drag until the hair is on it, focus with the wheel. Then the rod can be read.
• Leveling: first shot after a setup is a backsight on a known point. Take a foresight on a turning point before you move. Side shots are IFS.
• The plan (P) is the course reference map: setups, backsights, foresights, side shots. Shots you have taken light up.
• Open the field book (B), type HI and the elevations, press Check. Close back on the benchmark.
• The bag shows what the selected member holds. The datasheet in the pocket (M) has the benchmark's plan and description: find it like in the field.
• Camera: right-drag turns, left-drag pans, wheel zooms, Q / E turn, Space snaps back to the crew.

A survey crew simulator built at Florida Gulf Coast University for construction and engineering students. The campus is real (OpenStreetMap), the elevations follow the Construction Methods Lab civil drawing, the instruments follow a Leica automatic level and a Leica total station, and every reading and field-book entry is checked.
