Set up over C1, backsight C2. 1A to 1D are the corners of the pad to be staked.
First shot after every setup is a backsight on a known point; the last one before you move is a foresight on the next turning point. Point B and Point C (rim) double as turning points 2 and 3.

A survey crew simulator built at Florida Gulf Coast University for construction and engineering students. The campus is real (OpenStreetMap), the elevations follow the Construction Methods Lab civil drawing, the instruments follow a Leica automatic level and a Leica total station, and every reading and field-book entry is checked.
